Little Fox Learning Center is committed to providing no-charge reading mentor/tutors to any child age 4 through 4th grade to assist families in early reading development as well as “catch-up” reading skills for children who may be struggling to read at grade level.
Little Fox is an outreach of St. James Episcopal Church, Dundee and has been funded, in part, through a parish partnership grant of Episcopal Charities Chicago. While we utilize space in St. James Church in Dundee, the program is not religious in nature and is open to any child who needs reading assistance, providing private tutoring level help to children who might otherwise not be able to find at no cost to the students or families.
Little Fox operates through trained and vetted volunteers, who provide specialized supplemental services as an after-school opportunity between 3 – 7 PM, with adjusted hours for summer prep before a new school year begins. This is not a comprehensive reading curricula but uses easy to master methodologies in conjunction with their conventional reading programs through school, to achieve early mastery, or mitigation for struggling readers.
We are committed to helping your child find joy and wonder in reading, a skill that will serve them throughout their learning lives.
